LARRY A LESLEY

DESCRIPTION

I collaborated with the Columbus Fashion Alliance to design branded assets for their ComplexCon booth, which showcased several Midwest-based brands including Saint Pierre, Midwest Kids, Free Lunch, and more. The booth’s creative direction centered around the theme “Made in the Midwest,” a concept developed to unify the collective under a shared identity celebrating regional creativity and craftsmanship. This project focused on producing cohesive visual systems that connected each brand’s individual style to the overarching Midwest narrative. Deliverables included brand-specific assets for Saint Pierre and Midwest Kids, and the primary Made in the Midwest logo that served as the booth’s anchor identity. The goal was to capture both community pride and cultural relevance through bold, authentic visuals that resonated with attendees and elevated the Midwest’s presence within the national streetwear scene.

RATIONALE

This project represented an opportunity to merge brand identity, cultural storytelling, and experiential design on a high-profile stage. By collaborating with the Columbus Fashion Alliance and contributing to a space shared by emerging and established brands, I explored how design can foster a sense of regional unity while amplifying creative voices. The Made in the Midwest concept allowed me to express the intersection of fashion, place, and narrative — positioning Midwest creativity as both distinct and influential within a national context.
